Terms & Conditions

Descriptions:

  • Whilst every care has been taken to provide an accurate representation of the pictures available for purchase, individual screen sizes and settings may alter individual colour reproduction.
  • In addition, because screen technology is still being improved, occasionally we may be unable to do full justice to some of the images depicted.
  • To help you make an appropriate selection for your needs, we have given approximate sizes of all prints as supplied by the individual artists/publishers concerned. These are given for guidance only and should not be taken as exact measurements.

Pricing:

  • All goods offered for sale through our website are priced in pounds sterling and are inclusive of any UK taxes that may apply.
  • Payment of any import duties or taxes that may apply in countries outside the UK remain the responsibility of the customer.
  • Prices do not include postage and packing, which will be charged as an additional cost on all orders. Full details of our Postage and Packing charges are available on both the shopping cart order form and our 'Delivery Charges' web page.
  • THE ART COMPANY (SCOTLAND) LTD accepts payment by cash if sent by registered post with full ordering information, and cheques which are drawn on a major UK bank in Pounds Sterling (£). We also accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Switch, Delta and Solo cards for Internet purchases. Our secure service is backed by Llyods Cardnet and the VSP Protx.

Delivery

  • All delivery charges are indicated on both the order form and on our Delivery Charges web page.
  • All orders are accepted subject to availability. Whilst every effort is made to ensure that pictures which are sold out are removed from the site as soon as possible, some delays may occur. Should this happen, you will receive a full refund.
  • If more than one image is purchased, your order may arrive in several packages due to the large number of suppliers and artists we deal with.
  • All orders should be dispatched within seven working days of receipt and should be received by you within 14 working days. If you do not receive your order within this time please do not hesitate to contact us.
  • If there is likely to be a delay, we will notify you and offer you the option to cancel your order and receive a full refund (see 'Returns and Refunds' below). Alternatively we will arrange a new delivery date.
  • Please advise us if you have not received your order within 14 days so we can trace your picture(s).

Returns and Refunds

  • We take the greatest care to ensure all our stock is checked prior to dispatch. If for any reason a original or print is damaged or unacceptable, we will make every effort to rectify the situation to ensure you are fully satisfied with your purchase.
  • We offer a full refund if the painting is returned to us, in the same condition as it was sent, within 7 days of receipt. If you decide after 7 days and 30 days of receipt that the painting is not suitable we will offer an exchange or credit to the same value with no time limit on when you use it.Deposits are non refundable,unless in exceptional circumstances. Payments made by credit/debit cards will be subject to a 2.5% surcharge should a refund be made.

Privacy Policy


  • THE ART COMPANY (SCOTLAND)Ltd maintains a strict privacy policy. Because we are committed to protecting your privacy, we will only use the information we collect about you lawfully in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and according to the Which? Web Trader Code of Practice.
  • E-mails we receive and send are kept on our computer systems to ensure that we have a record of all orders placed.
  • However, because the storage of personal information is covered by legislation, we have adopted a simple policy of not disclosing personal information to third parties other than where necessary to fulfill orders. This policy offers total peace of mind and means you shouldn't be pestered by unsolicited telephone calls, e-mails or junk mail.
  • The information we collect about you includes only your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address and, where you have supplied it, details of any particular areas of interest.
  • The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy, the law and the Which? Web Trader Code.
  • We may use technology to track the behaviour patterns of visitors to our site. This can include using a "cookie" which would be stored on your browser. You can usually modify your browser to prevent this happening. The information collected in this way can be used to identify you unless you modify your browser settings.

Complaints

  • THE ART COMPANY (SCOTLAND) LTD deals with either the artist directly or through artists agents. We endeavour at all times to provide you with the best possible service. However, should you have any grounds for complaint we will ensure our no-quibble money-back guarantee means your complaint will be handled quickly, fairly, confidentially and effectively.

  • When we receive a complaint we will try to acknowledge it within 24 hours but no longer than three working days and expect to have it resolved to your satisfaction within a total of seven working days. We will keep you informed of the progress throughout the procedure.
